I am organising a Vizsla + friends Whizz on Sunday 19th August on the fabulous dog beach at West Wittering.

This is the most fabulous sandy beach for dogs to whizz....swim and play :) :) :) :)

We have several members of the Surrey Viz (really great like minded Vizsla people) who are going to come so it would be great if some members from this forum would like to join us.

Depending on the weather we can either have a picnic or go to a nearby dog friendly pubn after the wallk .. it will be a great doggy day.

PM me if you can make it or want further information.

For anybody who wants to joins us on the Dog beach at West Whittering this Sunday we are meeting at 3.00p.m (15.00) at the car park down at the far end opposite the dog beach. The weather forecast is good. Bring pooh bags and a water bowl. There are plenty of fresh water taps that you can fill dog bowls from.

Any questions please PM.

Well.....it normally takes just over an hour for us to get down there, but yesterday the last 6 miles took us 21/2hrs. The car parks were heaving, but the dog beach was pretty empty and the tide was out so the dogs had a good run, Pip and Boris had a swim, too shallow for Fergus. We thought most of the traffic would have gone by the time we left, but worse than the M25 on a Friday - gridlocked :-X :-X We left at about 7:00pm and were going to go and have supper at the pub at Itchenor, but we didn't even make the turn off by 9:00, the traffic wasn't even moving. In the end we turned around and took the E.Wittering road which was fine. I think we have had such an awful summer that as we had one good day, everybody in the south of England headed for the beach - ants everywhere, if you know what I means.(no sarcasm!)

We met up with Orangemonkey from your neck of the woods, they were about 10 cars behind us on the way down and we both would have liked to have turn around, but with hot dogs in both cars who needed a run and cool off and we didn't know where else to go. We got home at 11 last night - we have pretty tired dogs today.

Think we will wait until the schools go back before we go again. Hope you have a good week - without the ants ;) ;)

Yes it is a battle to get there when the weather is nice. I often say to my wife that my favourite time to go to the beach now is on a slightly grey and misty day. :)

Glad you managed to get there and for the dogs to have a run around. We could try and meet up down there during the 21 to 30 Sept. We are staying down there so will be really flexible on the day.
