My 4.5 month old V, Ace, has started walking while peeing. When younger he would squat and empty his bladder. Now, he just walks and pees which results in him peeing all over his front legs. Other than putting him on leash to hold him in place every time he goes out to the bathroom, is there anything I can do? Is this normal behavior? Thoughts on whether he'll grow out of this?

I have no idea if he will out grow it.
Unless he has a UTI, I haven't seen them do this. But that he's not having an accidents in the house, it's probably him just not wanting to take the time to be still.

And you might have to get used to it. Even some males that squat to pee or, lift their hind leg, still wind peeing on a front leg. You just get used to wipe in the front legs down, so they don't smell.

as i read your post,
george clubbed my shoulder with his left front paw trying to get a hug.

i knew it was his left front paw because it smelled like his urine,
which i know distinctly,
because no matter how many hours he spends in the river every day,
that paw permanently smells of his urine,
because he always finds a way to let his gaze wander,
and therefore his stream follow,
which invariably ends at that front left paw.

almost two years old now,
the only thing that’s been grown out of is my squeamishness about the whole situ...

as long as it’s never in the house,
i can be cool with the collateral damage...
