Hi everyone,
I'm so excited to be bringing Lucy home in mid-May! Lucy is a wirehaired puppy and she will be our first puppy as we have only ever rescued adult dogs in the past.

Any tips or recommendations?

WHV's are really cool. Congrat's on your new family member.
The biggest difference will be the first few weeks dealing with house breaking. An adult rescue can be expected to hold their bladder for awhile. A puppy cannot. They are still developing.
A puppy does four things; Eat, sleep, play, and go to the bathroom. If their not actively engages in the first three activities, they're getting ready to become engaged in the fourth activity.;)
If you've been using dog parks n the past, that will have to cease until all of their vaccines are given. In the US the shots are spaced every few weeks until about 16 weeks old
Other than that, training starts on day one.
I think you'll be just fine.
