Actually cats too.

I have often tried to figure out why animals in general seem to relate to me so well. I hope this does not seem like "bragging" it is just a curious thing to me.

A few years back I was at a party and tired of making conversation so took a break and went out in the yard where I spied a cat. I played with her and then picked her up and went back inside, she was very calm and purring. The hostess stopped mid-sentence and exclaimed that in 5 years no one had ever been able to pick up that cat. Not wanting to press my luck I made a hasty exit, but everyone in the family could not stop talking about that, very funny actually.

At any rate, I volunteer at the local animal shelter and have been qualified to handle the most difficult level 3 dogs, which sadly as you might imagine are mostly pit bulls.

This character "Slash" I met for the first time today and is apparently very difficult for most handlers, people shy and dog reactive. They were laughing at how he "fell in love with me, apparently".

I grew up on a ranch and probably spent more time around animals than people, so maybe that has something to do with it. At any rate it is kind of funny how we seem to get along so well.

Yep, I've been there and done that. What I mean, sometimes a stray cat I found along the street suddenly will like me when I try to pet, but at the same time when my friend wants to do the same (very politely, of course, no sense of danger to harshly grab or whatever) the cat will run away or show some anger expression. It happens so many times with a different cat.
