Very impressive, would be interested to hear more about the training and the actual work.
Mine so far have only been trained for bird hunting but I know in Hungary they train and use them for deer blood trailing too. I have actually just been wondering the other day whether anyone here does the same.

Train during the off season. Best training is with actual dead animal. They have such a natural nose it comes pretty easy. She found 3 deer for me last year and wasn’t even a year old

i am convinced these Are the most versatile hunting dog around.

Thats amazing. Great work Thelma Lou!

I can tell you that Ellie has started to point on deer just out of her natural instincts. She's evolved from immediate uncontrolled chase to point. I think i accidentally trained her to not chase being quick with the commands and sometimes the e-collar those times my superior human eyes scoped the deer before she noticed them. She now automatically goes into a point/hold. I let the deer run a bit then let her loose to have some exercise.
