Old?

My vizsla is turning 10 - she has no interest in playing anymore- used to play toys a lot. Is this a normal aging process or should I worry?

My first V slowed down with the playing apart from one favourite toy that I used to keep on a shelf and only let her have a crazy play with now and then. Her other toys just went on for years and years with no damage!

One thing I changed for her at about 8 years was putting her on a high quality senior food and a joint supplement which gave her renewed youth!

They slow down gradually as they get older, nothing drastic, though...that usually indicates an acute situation, which the vet should look at. So, if it's sudden onset, no, not normal. If it's gradual, that's normal.

After age 9 or so, a yearly "senior wellness exam" including a CBC is always a good idea. and hold on even tighter to her now that she's 10....

I know some people have said they saw a improvement in their seniors, after changing their food to Brightminds by ProPlan.
I have no idea if its true.
And really don't think there's a magic food, that helps aging. If you do try it, let us know your thoughts on it.
I would rule out any medical issues, before trying different things.
We all don't age the same rate, and neither do dogs.

Not all those who wander are lost.

Life is just a leap of faith.
Spread your arms and hold your breath and always trust your cape.

Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.
