Some days

Out running dogs today, and snap a picture of June on point. It goes down hill from there. She pounces in the bushes, and brings out a skunk. I haven't ran Shine yet, so I drive to a different spot away from the now dead skunk.
Dirt road was a little wetter than I thought. So now my Durango is stuck in the mud. Its going to be a little bit, before someone is there to pull me out. I can sit in the Durango that now smells like skunk, or run Shine. I choose, run Shine.
June has has her 1st bath, (going to need more) and the Durango washed.

Rotten June on point, and a couple of her trying to rub the smell off.

She was such a treasure. No skunks out there on the heavenly trails right? Memory Eternal.

Thankfully June is still with me.
She turns 9 next month.
Maybe your thinking of Lucy. She also liked to give skunks a run for their money.

June had a good point lol. Getting stuck is bad enough and with the skunk smell yuck. i saw recently a skunk during our creek off leash run, made me order a skunk removing wash, just in case. :-)

I don't think anything gets rid of the smell right away.
I've used a skunk shampoo in the past. It didn't do any better than mixing up dawn dish washing, peroxide, and baking soda.
June's had 2 baths, and still had the slight ode of skunk smell. They normally get sprayed in the face, and you can't use the mixture, or skunk shampoo near the eyes. I just use Johnson's baby wash on her face.
I've washed her travel crate, and have her collar soaking. A good chance the collar will have to be thrown away. I can't find any one still making the white biothane collars, so I'm trying to save it.

Oh! I am so very sorry. I was thinking of her. I extend my most sincerest apologies for my mistake. I love Lucy and know that on the heavenly trails neither skunks nor snakes nor porcupines exist! Again, Memory Eternal!

We always keep a couple cans of tomato juice on hand for skunk encounters
