Re: Looking for hunter orange coat

I am really happy with this Rivers West jacket I just got for Finch (my homemade one was a bust). It is specifically designed for pointing breeds, so it fits Finch perfectly. I previously had trouble finding something that would fit her deep chest and tiny waist, so this is the winner so far!

Looking for hunter orange coat

Finch- I was just looking up fabric yesterday to make orange vests! Based on retail prices I'll probably try making one too.

Looking for hunter orange coat

Ok, so by reading some of your suggestions I ordered a mendota blaze orange collar as suggested by REM in a previous post, a chillydogs great white north coat for this cold winter suggested by a few members and the RiversWest orange coat for pointing breeds for the fall/early winter months...Any other "must haves"?

The skid vest with 3 orange Velcro straps gives great visibility. If you are handy with a sewing machine, cut the back off with the third strap and sew it off at the end. It fits really nice with just the two straps.

This is the one I like for visability. You can cut that last 3rd off to make a good fit, see dog in the picture. at 50lb its a nice fit in medium. The dog on the left is rocking the Rivers West jacket in med at 47lb.

Re: Looking for hunter orange coat

Got the collar but I bought an 18 inch! It's pretty darn big, maybe even too big! Does anyone think Whistler will grow into it? (I bought it @ 18 inches because the collar he has on said 18 on it; are there different systems for the lengths of size for collars?)

Oh darn, I guess I'll have to get him a 16! He's only 45 lbs right now!

I'd just punch a hole where you need it and cut off some of the tail. I hate returning things
