June's is a Avid chip, and registered through PETtrack. It was a lifetime enrollment. I know some had yearly fees.
I can't remembers the name, but I know there are some national data bases that you can add the chip information to that are also lifetime.

I had to look at the paperwork. Rangers chip is with Petlink.

Spread your arms and hold your breath and always trust your cape.

Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.

IDK, I tend to be fairly old fashioned about technology, which has worked out pretty well given my cautious nature. To me, its a risk/reward proposition: Although chipping is a new and effective way of providing permanent identification, it does involve a medical procedure (the insertion of the chip), and it just seems like common sense to wait until they're in their bigger, more permanent bodies for accurate placement. Besides, the chances of an 8 or 10 week old puppy dashing off are close to nil, why do it then?

The other issue here..and this is rampant paranoia, I know...is that a chip isn't a substitute for a collar with the name and phone embroidered on it...those are instantly seen and I would think are far more likely to result in a phone call than a beautiful, friendly Vizsla wearing nothing that would require knowledge of and inquiry to micro chipping services.
