We got our Vizsla Loki at 8 weeks old and he was pretty small to begin with at only 8lbs, but I’m worried he’s too skinny. I feed him 2 cups of food a day and he chows it down like he’s never had food before. I’m feeding him taste of the wild puppy food. Should I up his food?
Feed 3x/day, add some warm water. I tend to leave it out at that age so they can eat when they want. If you can see more than a hint of rib, then add more. They are pretty good at self regulating, and at that age, it's preferable for them to be a little over than under weight b/ they need the extra calories for growth.
I agree with everyone who says feed 3 times per day; it's much better for their metabolism. There may be some better dog foods; try looking at the DogFood Advisor website and pay special attention to the amount, or lack, of recalls.
This may have already been addressed with your vet but, if he hasn't been wormed, that would be something I would look into. Good luck!
I would definitely give him at least 3 cups of food a day, thats what i give my viszla and he looks perfect
