attacking the TV
« on: February 01, 2010, 12:17:26 AM »

Has there been a thread on this before?  Rosie is increasingly agitated about things happening on the TV (we have our LCD on a stand, not on the wall).  She's pawed it before, but today she actually knocked it over (it's a 40") because she was upset by (horrors) a caribou and a man paddling a canoe on some PBS show.  So far, the TV seems to have survived.  She also hates to see people dancing...Anyone have any similar tales or words of wisdom?

Kian has been spooked by images on teh tv before, he has gone up to it and given it a warning "WOOF".  Usually it's followed by us telling him it's "OK" and then he walks out of the room a little confused/nervous ::)
If it is bad I will take him and walk over to the TV and show him that it's "OK" and "NICE".... his tail is usually wagging shortly after.

Yes, we do a lot of reassurance, too ("it's okay, honey, it's just a show, it isn't real...").  Somehow I don't think she gets it but sometimes she'll put her head back down and go to sleep.

Her latest is to get agitated if people on the TV are dancing or running.  That is the ultimate evil for her.  Just now she sat up and barked up a storm because there was a sports clip.
