I'd like a 2017 restart please

2017 has not been a good year for my family. My Dad passed away unexpectedly in January and now my niece has been in the hospital for the last three weeks. It's been a struggle and we've all been chipping in trying to help take care of my other two nieces and their new V puppy. The puppy is currently living out her show titled "Dogs Gone Wild". Poor thing has been shuffled around to different houses and is totally out of her routine. She's currently here at my house and she is completely in love with Penny - follows her around and copies everything she does. This weekend I'm going to try and get her training somewhat back on track and luckily she's a smart little thing so she picks up things quickly. Job number one this weekend is to work on leash walking - she's a little terror on the leash right now. Wish me luck!

Crazycash I will wish you luck, but you will also be in my thoughts, and prayers. Having family all pitch in, let's you know just how blessed you really are.
From past posts I know you were really close to your dad. June helped me with the passing of my dad, 7 years ago. Having a wild child puppy at the house, keeps you from spending the day in sorrow. Puppies need lots of training, and socialization. They can give us a welcome break from our problems, and make us get out of the house. I hope this puppy helps your family, in the same way June helped me.

Crazycash, I am sorry to hear about your dad and will pray for your niece and your family. It makes for hard times. I hope training the new puppy gives you more happy moments and memories than hard ones at this time in your life. Sometimes those crazy puppy moments are just what my wife and I need to get us smiling again when we are down.

My niece finally came home! She's still on the mend but at least she's home. Little Honey pup is happy to have her snuggle buddy home - she's been helping my niece recoup by cuddling with her on the couch.

Thanks everyone, I'm definitely looking forward to better times ahead. I thought I had years before I had to deal with this but luckily I have a great family and we'll get through it.

Honey is back home and my niece is still not cleared to go back to school yet - probably a few more weeks on that. When she has the energy she's teaching Honey tricks, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with what she's taught her so far - it's been good for both of them. After training they both snuggle up and take a nap so they are creating a great bond together.
